is the Australian Talent Management agency good?
Fri, 6 July 2007, 12:06 pmRecently an extras/acting/modelling agency called Australian Talent Management (ATM) has been advertising current castings all over Australia-wide online job listings. I have been in contact with them regarding a TV series being filmed on the Gold Coast, but I can't find any information on them (other then their job listings and website).
Does anyone know this agency? Is it another NOTM?
I'm a bit concerned. They allow for a free listing on their website but in order to actually be presented to clients, they suggest you upgrade to a $100 yearly membership. I was in touch with NOTM a year ago and I recall they had a very similar system of membership.
If anyone has any information, it would be greatly appreciated. I suspect there will soon be an increase in interest in this agency following the recent spate of casting listings.

Wed, 18 July 2007, 07:08 pmNo thanks. I'm not an actor, and I have no interest in coming to see you - to chat about what I've written here no doubt - when you still have done nothing but provide what I can already find on your site. And you will see in my previous posts, that I have not said you are not legit or respectable. Just that people should be informed before they sign anything. I believe that is one of the things that MEAA and other peak bodies suggest? And in fact, if you read the start of the thread, I do my best to defend the agency, keeping with the 'innocent til proven guilty' concept. The only thing I ever stated was that a) we needed more information before giving a yay or nay answer, and b) that commissions should only be taken after gaining work, not before.
Perhaps you need to clarify whether ATM is an agency - ie. finding work for their represented actors - or whether it is a subscription service - ie. the along the lines of Quietonset, Arts Hub, and Giglist, and other promotional websites.
Meanwhile, you've not done your research. I'm a woman.
(And you could have worked that one out quite easily by visiting my site)
And thanks so much for researching everyone else but me... amazing how you take the time to do that, but still don't provide any details about yourself, or anything else that can't be found by going to ATM's site. I would Google you... but then, who do I look for? You're not even listed on ATM.
Alternatively, you could come to me. I work in the city, not far from Flinders...
