is the Australian Talent Management agency good?
Fri, 6 July 2007, 12:06 pmRecently an extras/acting/modelling agency called Australian Talent Management (ATM) has been advertising current castings all over Australia-wide online job listings. I have been in contact with them regarding a TV series being filmed on the Gold Coast, but I can't find any information on them (other then their job listings and website).
Does anyone know this agency? Is it another NOTM?
I'm a bit concerned. They allow for a free listing on their website but in order to actually be presented to clients, they suggest you upgrade to a $100 yearly membership. I was in touch with NOTM a year ago and I recall they had a very similar system of membership.
If anyone has any information, it would be greatly appreciated. I suspect there will soon be an increase in interest in this agency following the recent spate of casting listings.
I may be wrong, but David

If so, then it seems you didn't do enough research. We're not posting anything defamatory - just warning people to do their research before signing up.
And thank you Thomas for registering (which is free), and providing your own, confirmable, details. (Insert sarcasm here)
From the description of the site, that you have given Thomas, it sounds less like an agency and more like a website that offers 'promotional services'. You are right, there are plenty of these around - Arts Hub, QuietonSet, etc. They are not necessarily rip offs, nor am I implying that yours is. I'm just trying to get young and emerging artists (like those that post to this site looking for work) to try and RESEARCH their options, rights and expectations.
We did have someone post a scam alert for a US-based website recently, and it is easy for the legitimate sites to get caught up in the sweep. It is also easy for people to assume that a bad service is a good one simply because they assume that there are other good services out there, so this must also be good.
Now, how about you register for the site, post some contact details, and offer our reading audience some verifiable examples of what the company has done for local actors.
