WAAPA auditions
Thu, 22 Sept 2005, 05:43 pmI was thinking if anyone can suggest any cool stuff for waapa auditions? i was thinking something more modern..cause all of the new dance mix musicals (let us rock you and saturday fever) have pop stuff in them.
maybe something by the fugees or cold chisel? killing me softly or choir girl? will they like that ?
or should i stick to anthem and this is the moment?>
thanks,
seb

Hi All,
With all this conversation going on i thought i would post something you all may find of interest......
I auditioned for WAAPA when i was 20 and had no clue really as to what was going on in Musical Theatre.
I auditioned with two songs from Les Mis (Empty Chairs and At the end of the day - which is a full ensemble number!!!) AND i got in!
So to say be careful about song choice etc etc is correct but, if you sing something well and they like you, it won't really matter when it comes to waapa making their decisions.
BTW - Most people who were in my graduating class, also had equally as bad audition songs and still made it into the course. I guess the thing is talent will most probably win over all.
Hope this helps you all, and chookas for your auditions.
