WAAPA auditions
Thu, 22 Sept 2005, 05:43 pmI was thinking if anyone can suggest any cool stuff for waapa auditions? i was thinking something more modern..cause all of the new dance mix musicals (let us rock you and saturday fever) have pop stuff in them.
maybe something by the fugees or cold chisel? killing me softly or choir girl? will they like that ?
or should i stick to anthem and this is the moment?>
thanks,
seb

I beg to differ, waapa hopeful1.
music theatre is a fluid, ever changing genre. if someone wants to sing a more rocked up song for an audition, that's their perogative. if you sing it well, the panel will like you no matter what. there's no point singing some sondheim badly if you can do other stuff better. that's why you go to a course like waapa. to learn how to do deal with sondheim and gershwin and porter and rodgers and hart. you know?
jesus christ! are you guys all just sour and bitter cause you've never been to waapa??
