WAAPA auditions
Thu, 22 Sept 2005, 05:43 pmI was thinking if anyone can suggest any cool stuff for waapa auditions? i was thinking something more modern..cause all of the new dance mix musicals (let us rock you and saturday fever) have pop stuff in them.
maybe something by the fugees or cold chisel? killing me softly or choir girl? will they like that ?
or should i stick to anthem and this is the moment?>
thanks,
seb

Sorry Glinda,
but i agree with waapa hopeful. The question of catalogue musicals (We Will Rock You, Mumma Mia etc) came up in an audition masterclass and Mr. King said point blank that songs from those kind of musicals aren't the best for auditions for WAAPA.
Having said that though - i do agree that you shouldn't go and sing sondheim just cos it's sondheim.
Goodluck to all those auditioning.
