WAAPA AUDITIONS!!
Fri, 7 Oct 2005, 11:49 pmUm hi guys! wow what an amazing forum! I am, like so amazed how much you guys all know about like, acting and stuff! I heard off my friend dulcie at the clinic that waapa was doing auditions for people soon.... my mum has always said i'm such a character, and I was thinking, i reckon i could be a performer in a big hollywood musical! i cant really sing that good - only in the shower using my shampoo as the microphone!! haha I heard they teach you singing and stuff at the academy, so yeh. I reckon it wud be wicked to be in a place where everyone is so talented and amazing singers. I wanted to get advice on my audition.... I started writing my audition monologue and me and my friend sharon, who did ballet until she was, like, 14, is helping mewith a creative dance...how long should it be? and is it cool if i wear my leotard? what do you people reckon?>
thanks so much guys!

Der.
You state the bleeding obvious!! Sometimes I wonder about people.
My advise was for those in the eastern states to way up what they want from the course, how much they are willing to sacrifice both financially and emotionally.
Not everyone thinks the same!! As I said I loved the course, was out of packet financially and COMPARED TO SYDNEY ( no other fricken city, that was a joke right) Perth is boring as shit. Thats my opinion
Not every interstate person who was at WAAPA was happy with Perth. If this is what anyone wants to do go for it, I reckon its the best place to learn but there are BUTS.
Melbourne aint Paris well WAAPA aint in Paris or Toowoomba or Adelaide or Melbourne. WAAPA is in Perth if you didnt know.
"Its a breeze compared to forging a career in the real world"- what does that mean WAAPA and Perth are not the real world. Hey look, the WAAPA course, to repeat myself, is the best. Interstate people just need to way things up cos WAAPA doesnt like to be mucked around either. I mean like, Interstate people dropping out.
Mothers home cooking,- my mother died 10 years ago and I have always cooked myself. But hey if others dont want to miss home cooking dont go and waste there time. Fair enough comment.
Do you know that some people who were around at WAAPA when I was there, didnt think about anything else but the course, then as the years went on found Perth boring as shit and a few other inconveniences, and no some people dont have sense or should I say, are so focused on their goal that they lose sight of other things, then these other things start to get to them and a couple dropped out. What Im saying is, they stuffed WAAPA around. I can tell you WAAPA were not happy!!!
Hey you agree with me "Surely if your drive is to further your career in the Performing arts then you might rise above such 'inconveniences'. I rose and stuck it out, it cost me but this is what others have to way up. How bad do they want it, what are they willing to sacrifice, some people just dont like inconveniences. Some people are so focused they lose track of their surroundings. What I said before- they shouldnt waste WAAPA's time should they!
