Um hi guys! wow what an amazing forum! I am, like so amazed how much you guys all know about like, acting and stuff! I heard off my friend dulcie at the clinic that waapa was doing auditions for people soon.... my mum has always said i'm such a character, and I was thinking, i reckon i could be a performer in a big hollywood musical! i cant really sing that good - only in the shower using my shampoo as the microphone!! haha I heard they teach you singing and stuff at the academy, so yeh. I reckon it wud be wicked to be in a place where everyone is so talented and amazing singers. I wanted to get advice on my audition.... I started writing my audition monologue and me and my friend sharon, who did ballet until she was, like, 14, is helping mewith a creative dance...how long should it be? and is it cool if i wear my leotard? what do you people reckon?>

thanks so much guys!

Those who want to get into WAAPA you need to think long and hard about what you want to achieve. Especially those from the eastern states. WAAPA ia a long way from home and Perth is definately not Melbourne or Sydney. No shops are open on Sunday's and they all shut at 6pm on weekdays none of this staying open late. The nightlife is crap. OMG so so dead man. Its quiet and isolated, flights home are not cheap, and finding accommodation is bullshit, theres not enough decent close accommodation. Dont even think about staying in student accom. its the pits and a hell hole. Dont tell me the MT schools around Sydney dont get their students into musicals cos they do. Why go all the way over there and waste your money when we have perfectly good MT schools here What makes WAAPA great, its isolated so no agents can steal you and thats it. Think about giving up 3 years of your social life cos you only party with the same WAAPA people at their places cos theres no where else to go. WAAPA is like NIDA, they rip you to shreads, chew you up and spit you out, no encouragement, push push push. You always see students crying in the corridors, Aust Idol's Kyle and Mark Holden are pussycats compared to this. They want their $55 audition fees from everyone to make money. Dont get me started. Plus they only take about 2 people from Sydney out of hundreds, majority of students are from WA cos they have a week of auditions.
