Um hi guys! wow what an amazing forum! I am, like so amazed how much you guys all know about like, acting and stuff! I heard off my friend dulcie at the clinic that waapa was doing auditions for people soon.... my mum has always said i'm such a character, and I was thinking, i reckon i could be a performer in a big hollywood musical! i cant really sing that good - only in the shower using my shampoo as the microphone!! haha I heard they teach you singing and stuff at the academy, so yeh. I reckon it wud be wicked to be in a place where everyone is so talented and amazing singers. I wanted to get advice on my audition.... I started writing my audition monologue and me and my friend sharon, who did ballet until she was, like, 14, is helping mewith a creative dance...how long should it be? and is it cool if i wear my leotard? what do you people reckon?>

thanks so much guys!

Humm, very clever but what you see is not what I saw at WAAPA. I have been there for goodness sake. From my BA MT course we had those crying in corridors many times. Do you visit corridors regularly to know who is there and who is not, Obviously you do if you know this doesnt happen. When I was there 3 years ago there were no shops open after 6pm weekdays. Shops not open on Sunday. Nightlife is boring compared to Sydney. Plus I am talking to those who live in Sydney and Melb and want to venture over. Im was not the only Sydney sider doing MT who hated the nighlife in Perth, and there has to be a break in study for sanity, hello where is there. Northbridge has a few so does Freo but no comparison to what Sydney ppl are used to. During orientation we were told that WAAPA is isolated so agents dont poach. It has also been posted previously on this forum by Crispian. And if you think the lowest Virgin return fare of $400 - $450 is cheap, you must be rich. In 3 years $450 was the cheapest return tickets I could get from both airlines. Most times especially during hols it was around $700 + cos you cant go anywhere during the semester only break. So Eastern staters dont plan to visit family and friends too often. OOh yeah thats real cheap Accommodation - I tried for 6 weeks and paid through the nose before I shared some 10 km away, not really near close public transport but had to walk 2 km for the bus. All student accom was taken by international students and got knocked back by real estate agents cos I didnt have references, Never had to rent before. Student accom tried desperately to help me out and finally got a share. Out of pocket $2500 before I started. Lucky I had parent to help me out otherwise I would have been up shit creek. Dont tell me whats right or wrong and I never been there. The course was great but I am telling Eastern staters to look in their own back yard first. I have seen first hand them tear students to shreds. Dont tell me they dont. If anyone cant take full on critisism dont go I am trying to help out eastern state people thank you, they need to weigh up if they can afford the move. WAAPA is great no bones about that part. So Labrug and David Meadows you both from the Eastern states and can make comment on what I have said.
