Adelaide ppl if you didnt see the 24 Hour Show on Sat night you missed out big time.

24 Hour Show at Her Majesty'e Theatre Adelaide raising money for kids with cancer was a Great Show and extremely funny.

It was amazing. Auditions were on Friday night with 130 ppl. They audition everyone selecting cast within 15 min. Rehearsal began immediately. Rehearsal from 8pm to 12am Friday night then back at 8am Sat until end of show.

Guys and Dolls was the musical and no one knew what musical they were doing until all the cast were selected. They performed the whole show. 2 1/2hrs of dialogue, song and dance learnt in 24 hours. The sets were made in 24hrs. The orchestra was selected and the full score mastered in 24 hrs. Lighting and tech in 24 hours.

Yes lines were forgotten but adlibed. Some songs were forgotten but covered up with comedy. Just a brilliant cast. Never laughed so much in all my life.

Guys and Dolls is not a favourite of mine but I would pay to see this again.

Together with the Triple MMM morning crew and Aussie Olympian basketballer Rachel Sporn. Funny Funny Funny

Well done to my friend Sarah who was just the best Hot Box Dancer, what a standout.

Anyone thinking of a career in theatre, musical theatre, dance be prepared for guys like JAX.

I didnt think this forum was about vilifying ppl but you always get those who are jaxed off about something or someone who is better than them. Hey Jax, not related to 'y' or are you that person, just changed your name.

I was one of the lead roles in the show. I personally had not performed the whole show before but did know some of the score. You only hope when you audition thats it one that you know or have done before.

The whole show is rehearsed in 24 hours. Whether you had performed the musical before or not, is irrelavent. Remembering 100 pages plus of script in 24 hours and interacting with others and knowing your cue, oh and theirs. Yeah thats easy, right. Even if some had performed Guy's and Dolls before, it wasn't like it was yesterday and the script was fresh in their minds. I think anyone is theatre would know what I am saying.

No one knew what the show was until after the audition but I dont have to justify this to anyone.

Jealous ppl should keep their traps shut when they dont know circumstances. Cera should be commended in performing as she was instructed and adapting quickly to the instant changes made on stage, she is an amazing girl and the first time I have met her. Cera, in fact, spent alot of her time during the day assisting Jane Reilley and Rachel Sporn learning the dance routines.

Upstaging was never an issue in this production. Its obvious that someone doesnt like her getting the attention. Well, did she get ALL the attention?? Jane Reilley and Rachel Sporn got most of the laughs in the dance segments. Two celebs who have never danced a step in their lives making the most of their debut in the limelight. Thats who the audience came to see and if there was any upstaging it was all of the celebs in the performance.

The orchestra also had to learn the score and the music was not entirely the same as it was on the CD we rehearsed with. That made singing some of the song difficult but interesting. Same with the dance routines, that what I meant by adapting on stage. We all had great fun.

Realistically what are we talking about here - what was it- 3 dance routines at maybe 2-3 minutes each in a 2 1/2 hour show. Oh yeah I really felt upstaged.

I get so irrate when ppl shoot their mouths off and not know the person.

I remember a couple of years ago auditioning for a show in front of a packed audience in Melbourne. There were only 3 of us auditioning for this particular part, we auditioned separately then came back on stage. The other 2 got the part and I was left standing. Not a good feeling but this is the industry. Get over it. Move on - do another show

The 24 hour show was an amateur production for the McDermot McGinness Foundation. Childhood Cancer. How anyone in their right mind can point the finger at organisers or individuals is beyond me. It was for a special cause and was not a professional production. We all had fun together and upstaging never entered anyones head. It was just a fantastic group of ppl

I really dont have to say more, ppl on this site can make up their own minds about 'y' and 'jax'. Its easy to sprout bull sh#t when your behind a computer and noone knows who you are.

Seems this site is full of idiots who have too much time on their hands to personally 'bag' others. Too many green eyed monsters.
