I really didn't understand your first paragraph, but I'm all in favour of everyone baring their chest....

If you think there are contradictory principles in my last post and the one that came before it, you're probably right, because I don't claim to agree with everything the previous author said. This isn't an 'us' vs 'them' situation; I've already said I believe there are many sides to an argument.

I don't think I've been contradictory in my OWN statements...? (...No. Just read back through this thread...I still agree with myself).

I HAVEN'T been advocating that you leave this forum, in fact I've been encouraging you to trade banter with me and others here. I've been asking you to include the wider public in your conversation, much for the same reasons you offer - 'free flow of discussion'.
And I DO argue that this is a public forum. By definition, there can't be exclusivity...your conversations are open to everyone, and people are joining in as soon as you post, either as readers or further contributors. So it seems silly to be attempting to be an exclusive club (as Janty was petitioning in one post).
I also DO advocate diversity, demonstration of differing opinions, immunity from prejudice, and acceptance of minority groups.
So we don't really differ much, do we? Why do I get the impression you think you're being attacked?

I did take issue with the amount of elite, 'in' joke, wanky kind of conversations that offered no humour or relevance to the community reading these forums. My objections were on the grounds that it tended to be disrespectful to those users who (we agree) have equal validity in being here. But hey, it was just my opinion, and I welcome any opposing argument.

Cheers,
Craig
