I have written a musical comedy and I am seeking advise on how to go about getting the play staged. I have no practical experience in theater, and lack the confidence to act, but enjoy the creativity that amateur dramatics allows. I have received positive reactions from my friends with regard to the play, but I am hoping to interest someone with theatrical experience to give an opinion, and advise on whether or not the play might be suitable to be performed, and if so, how to go about it. Are there any companies that might help in this area? Please contact me denyslunn@hotmail.com if you would like a copy of the script (via email). Your opinion and advice will be much appreciated.

Walter Plinge has pointed you in my direction because Lazy Bee Scripts is a publisher of (amongst other things) musical plays. (We're based in Pohmland, but we work worldwide and our portfolio includes Australian authors such as Johnny Grim.) However, publication and performance are independent. Publication is not a guarantee of performance; performance is not a guarantee of publication. (Usually performance will result in a better product being offered for publication.) "Musical play" is a broad category, so it helps a potential producer if you can say more about what you are offering. (Is this "juke box" musical, or have you written the music? If the latter, is it available as sheet music? What instruments is it arranged for? Do you have a backing CD? How many actors are needed? Is there a chorus? Title? Synopis...)
