Advice please

I have written a musical comedy and I am seeking advise on how to go about getting the play staged. I have no practical experience in theater, and lack the confidence to act, but enjoy the creativity that amateur dramatics allows. I have received positive reactions from my friends with regard to the play, but I am hoping to interest someone with theatrical experience to give an opinion, and advise on whether or not the play might be suitable to be performed, and if so, how to go about it. Are there any companies that might help in this area? Please contact me denyslunn@hotmail.com if you would like a copy of the script (via email). Your opinion and advice will be much appreciated.

musical play

Thank you everyone for responding to my post. I have received some very helpfull advice. The play is full length, with two acts. It has 2 male and two female actors. I have written and recorded the music (home studio) to a cd. The music can be performed with just a piano, (I do have sheet music for this, but not for the drums, bass and guitar). The music is a simple pop / ballad style, and is not complicated. The play is mainly set in a 1 bedroom flat and is therefore minimal. I have been advised that the play needs to be extended by at least 20 minutes and am now in the process of adding more dialogue. Feedback and suggestions have been constructive, helpfull and positive, and very much appreciated.
