Acting course in the UK
Fri, 19 Sept 2008, 06:24 pmHi
I was wondering if there is anyone here who has gone to the UK and has studied acting? If so how did you do it/afford it? because all I can see is that they are all fill time (mon-fri 8:30 - 5pm). As living expenses are high in london it would be hard to study there and work and make ends meat paying for fees and living expenses.
i was wanting to talk to someone who has done it because i am looking at doing it next year.
does anyone know if there are any acting degrees that are offered part time or on evenings and weekends?
thanks
Tas
I'm not suggesting that you
Sun, 21 Sept 2008, 08:20 pmI'm not suggesting that you are going just for the visa. I'm suggesting that it might be tougher to get in than local students and lecturers may be looking for more experience.
(Speaking as both a friend of an international student who came here and as the daughter of a university lecturer who dealt mainly with international students)
I wasn't implying anything about your skills, intentions or anything else. I was trying to explain things from the university's POV. I'm glad you're doing your research, and I wish you luck...
Side note: I've been lucky enough to check out the spaces at Rose Bruford College in London. It's a fantastic place, and I recommend you check it out. As I recall they offer places to int'l students and regularly audition here. (Acting classes near a pond and a barn theatre; plus a small in-the-round venue)
