Acting course in the UK
Fri, 19 Sept 2008, 06:24 pmHi
I was wondering if there is anyone here who has gone to the UK and has studied acting? If so how did you do it/afford it? because all I can see is that they are all fill time (mon-fri 8:30 - 5pm). As living expenses are high in london it would be hard to study there and work and make ends meat paying for fees and living expenses.
i was wanting to talk to someone who has done it because i am looking at doing it next year.
does anyone know if there are any acting degrees that are offered part time or on evenings and weekends?
thanks
Tas
I have done my research

thanks for the advice but I'm not going there for the visa, I'm going there because I genuanly want to act and although there are really good acting courses here in australia there are better ones there and there is more work there.
I don't want to work on Neighbours or H&A over here I think my talent can be put to amaizing use over there and more doors will open for me in the UK.
I'm not sure what impression you got from me, maybe you think that I want to do it for the visa, but thats not it, I'm doing it because it's my dream and with 3 years training in one of Londons best schools I know I will be miles ahead of everyone else here in Aussie that hasn't had the training and even the ones that have had training.
I think the students that don't have the eperience were born in the UK. I have done a lot of research, its going to cost me about 10,000 pounds a year, when it costs a normal UK student 2,000 pounds a year if they get assistance through a government scholarship.
I have already called and emailed many schools in the UK and I have a few meetings when I am there (which is in 2 weeks). One thing I'm not is an idiot I always do my research first before I do anything. I know what thier audition process is and it goes for like 6 months, 2 monologues in the first audition, then a call back audition and then a call back for a workshop, if they still want you they will call you for another workshop and if they like you after that they will take you. the enty is a lot more harsher then the ones in in aussie but the success rate is a lot higher.
