Hi I was wondering if there is anyone here who has gone to the UK and has studied acting? If so how did you do it/afford it? because all I can see is that they are all fill time (mon-fri 8:30 - 5pm). As living expenses are high in london it would be hard to study there and work and make ends meat paying for fees and living expenses. i was wanting to talk to someone who has done it because i am looking at doing it next year. does anyone know if there are any acting degrees that are offered part time or on evenings and weekends? thanks Tas

Um, don't approach theatre

Um, don't approach theatre companies. You should be looking at government grants, overseas scholarship funds and philanthropic funding bodies. Theatre companies do not sponsor students and would most likely slam the door in your face if you asked. Additionally, if you don't have experience in acting, then it's unlikely you'll even get into a course overseas unless it's very entry level (ie. not on par with VCA or NIDA). I suggest you try studying here first, especially as you don't want to do part time courses. To get into full time ones overseas, you will probably need some sort of experience as class sizes will be low and spots competitive. Finger puppet pattern for under $4 at Puppets in Melbourne
