Hi I was wondering if there is anyone here who has gone to the UK and has studied acting? If so how did you do it/afford it? because all I can see is that they are all fill time (mon-fri 8:30 - 5pm). As living expenses are high in london it would be hard to study there and work and make ends meat paying for fees and living expenses. i was wanting to talk to someone who has done it because i am looking at doing it next year. does anyone know if there are any acting degrees that are offered part time or on evenings and weekends? thanks Tas

Were these actors local to the UK before getting in? There's a difference between applying locally and applying internationally. For a start, universities tend to accept students from overseas when they know they can front up the fees: an international student can pay as much as 10 times the fees as a local one. Additionally, overseas students may be expected to have more experience/dedication, because, as mentioned spots are competitive and lecturers won't want to waste one on an international student who might be just applying to get a visa and run off later. Sorry to sound harsh; I'm just trying to say, don't put all your apples in one cart. Do your research; if you're really that keen, make an overseas call to the course coordinator/dept. head and have a chat with them about their course, the audition process and what to expect if you get in.
