Part time courses? I just wanted to ask a question- I got some info sent out by the entertainment factory a while ago- it looks fantastic and really legit but I just can't afford the time and money this year. I got this letter yesterday from them saying that I could just pick up some units.. and get my Advanced Diploma over time or pick up full time next year... I was wondering coz there nationally recognised do you think if I did some units there and auditioned for both them and WAPPA next year my completed units could count towards my entry??? Does anyone know about the whole national recognition thing?!?!?! Was just curious - they start in two weeks and don't want to miss out if it counts for something!?!?

That's not actually true -T . A Registered Training Organisation is just that - a Registered Training Organisation. Nationally recognised as being a certified training institute by the government NATIONALLY!. That means all trainers and assessors must possess certain qulifications and that all National AQTF standards are met- it means they can not be some shed teaching on a concrete floor taught b y a teenager. WAPPA or any other institute can not determine who they think are good or not- that is TAC's job. The Government!!! Saying that- the qual's are different and that will make an impact. But if they wanted to do the Advanced Diploma in Acting or Dance the quals are the same. What will make an impact is the competency you complete - as they are nationally accredited course the content is different and so performance criteria will be different so skills recognition may not apply. But as WAPPA are also a RTO as well as University they have to apply the same skills recognition as any other RTO in Australia. There is no secret club for recognition. It is the same as someone gaining life recognition that work with computers applying for credit at Curtin. They can't just go- oh well you didn't train with Murdock i'm not awarding you anything they are bound by the same governing bodies as everyone else. Go to the TAC website- check it out!!!
