LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is a classic story of Faustian magnitude where mild-mannered Seymour discovers an exotic little plant with a strange and unusual appetite. The plant is growing remarkably fast and so is SeymourÂ’s love for his co-worker at the flower shop, Audrey. But she has a boyfriendÂ… and the plant has a bloodthirsty secret that threatens the entire planet.

yellow glass theatre inc (LAST DAYS OF WEIMAR, ANTHEMS FOR DOOMED YOUTH) brings together some of PerthÂ’s best musical theatre performers and musicians in this fully staged production with a difference.

Sue,

I'm saddened by your unsubstantiated and personal disparagement of Simon and of Yellow Glass Theatre's production of Little Shop of Horrors. If you are indeed a fan, then what possessed you to post dismissive comments which are far from thoughtful criticism? Can I be so inquisitive as to ask you who your inglorious source is?

Under any other circumstances if people wish to see a production of such high calibre then they would have to go to a professional show, which would have a significantly larger marketing budget and not feel the need to advertise on this "supportive" network.

Personally I believe that for $29.50 (Full Price), $23.50 (Concession) and $19.00 (Groups) - information easily accessible from the BOCS website, the Yellow Glass Theatre website, or this website... had you cared to validate your comments - patrons were presented with an amazingly talented cast and show of such a high theatrical standard that it could have been performed on any stage. But I understand your ignorance on this topic, on account of the fact that you didn't make the effort to attend the performance.

With reference to your comments about The Sun Room; no it is far from perfect and I am the first to admit it. But I don't attend a performance based upon the knowledge of a fabulous venue. In the scheme of things, I think a stellar show reigns over velour seating. The fact that the show was such a success regardless of the venue is testament to the cast, supreme direction, the amazing five piece live band, and the ever hardworking crewÂ’s flexibility, not to mention the huge effort they made to ensure the professionalism and pure brilliance of their performance. I certainly don't need the grapevine to be confident in the audience's positive reception of Little Shop of Horrors, as I have heard it first hand. It is essential that you do not negate the importance of this.

Ignited with a vibrant and youthful energy, Yellow Glass Theatre can be confident in their ambitious staging of the West Australian Premiere of Jonathon Larson's RENT in December. Worth attending based solely on RENT's production success and Yellow Glass Theatre's impeccable performance record, the 'story going around' is that this show will be nothing short of inspiring.
Keep an eye out for RENT Sue. It will rock your jocks.

Chris and Simon are loved and supported by the vast majority of people who count. Look at the people they work with...the cream of the actual crop. Look at the people who publically advocate their work. These guys should be commended for founding a company that reveals such an honest and encouraging affirmation that there is life and a substantial future in Perth's Musical Theatre scene.
Kudos Yellow Glass Theatre...

Zoë

P.S. Sue, please consider yourself corrected.

P.P.S. Just for reference;
My grapevine tells me that RENT tickets are on sale from the 12th of August through BOCS...
