24 hour show
Sun, 9 Jan 2005, 10:09 amHi Everyone. The theatre company I am involved with is planning to do a 24 hour show in a few weeks time. The concept being that anyone who wants to be involved, either on stage or backstage, turns up at the theatre on the Friday night where the rules etc are explained and then the title of the full length musical that we will be perforning the following night to a paying audience is announced...that gives us 24 hours to audition, rehearse, do sets, costumes, lighting, sound, learn the songs, rehearse the orchestra, do the program....everything in the space of a day.....wer'e doing it as a fundraiser! there must be easier ways of raising money than this but it will be fun! I'll let you know how it goes.

Tue, 15 Feb 2005, 12:06 pmYou're right Paul. So often members of the orchestra wonder what on earth the audience are laughing at or reacting to. It must be hard for you guys to know what's going on at all....you don't even have the lyrics printed in your scores ! I did notice, I think it was during Copacabana at the Shedley last October, that I saw a few stray orchestral heads popping up out of the pit to try and get a bit of a view of the action when they were'nt playing! As for the Hills there isn't a lot of room there at all!
