"Anyone can audition for WAAPA but I do know like NIDA they have a look in mind more than acting ability. WAAPA like NIDA wants to produce an acadamy award winner. NIDA has Mel Gibson and WAAPA is pinning its hopes on Hugh Jackman. Lisa McCune has already achieved one of their goals with a Golden Globe and if Ditch Davies (Blue Heelers) is another WAAPA grad."
I'd prefer to think that NIDA (and WAAPA mind you) will select people according to what the industry needs at that time, rather than making looks a major criteria. I believe the first years in NIDA this year were told that more boys were accepted for their class because there was a lack of males in the industry.
Crispy.
