hi everyone! i just had a few questions cause i'm auditioning for a youth theatre musical this weekend.
What is expected of you in the audition?
How good a singer/dancer do you have to be??
What sort of a song are you expected to do for callbacks?
How much should you 'be in charecter' for role that you want to be if there is no dialogue, just 16 bars of a song?
If you can't reach some of the notes should I just sing lower, or try to reach them, even if it sounds wrong?

Thanks for any help you could give me and e-mail me on drama_princess169@hotmail.com or mcstarlet66@hotmail.com

Gee...talk about nostalgia! "Living in The 70's" was one of the most fun shows I've ever performed in, especially when the band split off from the play and we started doing regular pub gigs in Perth & Freo in the early nineties.

The musical I'm preparing for right now is Disney's "The Lion King", opening in Sydney next year. I've already flown over for one callback and I'm now through to a final shortlist, for the part of Timon.

Hopefully, my career history of playing virtually nothing but animal characters for the last 15 years will give me a bit of a leg up. Hakuna Matata!

Cheers,
Craig
