Older audience members
Mon, 27 Aug 2012, 09:12 amAt the weekend I was talking to an elderly, but reasonably fit lady who was a regular attender at the Melville Theatre. She no longer drives so has to stand at a bus stop to go and come back from the theatre only one kilometre away. At nights, especially after the show, she is too frightened to do this. She still very keen to see shows but has had to give up the theatre trips.
Not just for this theatre, but has anyone any suggestions, or is there a theatre group who has a few 'friends of the theatre' who can pick these non-disabled fans to let them see a show?
Grant?
Mon, 27 Aug 2012, 10:29 amMaybe this is something for which us theatre clubs could apply for a grant. Hire a Coaster to pick up and drop off our elderly patrons for the matinee.
I'll suggest it at our next meeting.
