Ragged Blossom Costume
Fri, 20 Oct 2006, 08:17 pmI'm not 100% sure this is the right place to post this query - forgive me if it's not...
My daughter has got the role of Ragged Blossom in the end-of-year school musical, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie.
And guess who now has the task of coming up with a Ragged blossom costume :)
Help!
We're in Mandurah. I have done a websearch in W.A. in the hope of finding some place that has one and will hire it out - I have sent email queries but not heard back yet. Then thought someone here might know...
It's the costume for Ragged Blossom - my daughter is on the tall side for a 9 year old and wears a size 12 (children's size 12 that is) or a 14 if it's a small 14 or can be pinned to make tighter... or in adult sizing she can wear a 6 or an 8 and pin it.
So - can anyone help? Any ideas?
thanks!

Assumption Catholic Primary & Ragged Blossom Costume
Sun, 29 Oct 2006, 10:28 pmWhat a small world! You'll love to hear this "Grommetik"... not only do those old costumes for Ragged Blossom, Snugglepot, Cuddlepie and co still exist... Mandurah Catholic college have dug them up from Assumption and they are being used for this production!! Yes, some of them have to be replaced, many have to be repaired but guess what... the original skirt AND the original hat as worn by Assumption's "Ragged Blossom" all those years ago - is being worn by my daughter :)
I have modifed the skirt quite a bit - used it to go over something else that's bigger and fuller - and I've sewn umpteen laser sequins all over it and the orig hat is being used as the base for a much larger thing that sticks further out like the blossom looks - I had to buy a cheap straw hat and cut the middle head bit out :)
By the time all the mums have finished with all these costumes, they'll last another 10 years for the next lot of kids!
I can send you a photo if you like.
BTW - have you moved to Perth permanently - did all your family or just you? (I'm wondering if I might know you or them... probably don't, but you never know!)
Oh, and thank you for letting me know about Assumption and the costumes because if the school hadn't already known and got them, I'd have been able to pass your info on and you'd have "saved the day" :)
Cheerio!
