Jigsaws

Its 42+ degrees, and I have to go to rehearsal this evening. And you know what? I'm looking forward to it. My car is going to be stinking hot because its been sitting in the sun all day, its a 45min drive to Kwinana from here, and I still don't mind. Now, anyone who knows me at all well will tell you that I DO NOT enjoy summer. I sweat profusely and look somewhat like a slightly squashed tomato with white fluff on the top of it. So it is not normal for me to be happy to venture out into the heat. So why am I so happy? Because the rehearsal will be great, that's why. I still think, five weeks into rehearsals, that I have the absolutely best cast imaginable for 'Jigsaws'. Of course its easier working with a small, all female cast. That is a given. But what a cast it is. No Prima donnas, no back stabbing, no jealousy, no upstaging. Just talent abounding, lines down, supportive to eachother and to everyone else involved. They are always ready to try it again, stay a bit longer, accept direction, change completely, or whatever I ask of them. Its bliss. So, if you're looking for a show which will give you a really good laugh and make you think at the same time, if you would like a few insights into how women REALLY think, this is the show for you. But be aware that it is NOT a show for kids under 15. It contains 'Adult Themes, Sexual References, and Coarse Language' as the warnings go, and all of them in good measure. The men in my crew have had some really good laughs and have learnt a LOT. So, if you can handle all that, come and see Sharon Edsall, Judi Laudehr, Sarah Cosstick, Judy StClair and Liz Connor at Kwinana. They even LOOK like a family! The season opens on Feb 12th, runs Friday and Saturday for three weekends, finishing on Feb 27th. Matinee Sunday 21st. See you there! Sue Hayward.
