Mon, 4 Sept 2006, 01:45 pmExperience is good. What they tend to look for is untrained talent but not RAW talent as such. Getting a little experience under your belt either through theatrical participation or attending alternative courses is a good idea. Even consider the WAAPA Certificate or Evening Courses which would also give a slight insight into the WAAPA Mentality.
I've known people who have auditioned for several years without success, then on their 4th or 5th attempt have been accepted. It's a reflection of the industry, never give up but don't pin your hopes. Give yourself the freedom to pick and choose.
