Youth Theatre... there is hope!
Sun, 15 May 2005, 10:28 pmTegan ... what you say in some respects is true. The number of people that do actually sit up and take notice of the young people who post here could probably be counted on one hand....(aside from the "creepies" that Na described)... but this is because of the sheer amount of such posts that these boards recieve.....and believe me, getting the same message twenty times a day tends to grate on the nerves a bit.
However, there ARE theatre companies that welcome young people.
Stirling Players (S.P.Y.), Innaloo is one that comes immediately to mind and Ros Boyer's training group, (JETS) in Joondalup is another. Both these are organised by reputable people and (in the case of Stirling Players) mount at least one "youth" production each year. If you wish to check out the oppurtunities available for either of them contact the following people.
For S.P.Y. (Stirling Players Youth) Carryn Maddocks on 9448-2059 or for J.E.T.S. Ros Boyer on 9405-07987 or 0413-595-189.
(I also have it on good authority that Stirling Players will soon be auditioning for young actors to take part in a section of their one-act play season. Contact Christine Ellis on 9402-4675 for further information about this.)
