Can anyone reccomend a good song?
Mon, 11 Oct 2004, 05:57 pmCan anyone reccomend a good song for my WAAPA Audition? Looking for a female (pref. young) character. Number needs to be up tempo, looking for something a bit gutsy and different. I am a mezzo-soprano and would prefer to belt for this one. My other number is I'll forget you from The Scarlet Pimpernal.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am reaching the end of my tether! :)
Thanks!

As your first choice is a contemporary musical you should try and choose an up tempo from a more traditional older show eg Rogers & H, Irving Berlin, Gershwin etc.
I know that David King likes you to do something Old, something new. There are some great old character songs in that era that are a lot of fun.
Hope that helps. Hard for me to pick specific songs without hearing your voice but if you need suggestions let me know
