Hi -

I'm after some suggestions of good female audition songs - preferably upbeat numbers.

Any suggestions?

Please no Lloyd Webber, or Les Mis!!

Ta.

by the way dont listen to the first reply you got, obviously that person is inexpierianced seeing as she doesnt even know the correct lyrics to the trolly song, look into some of the newer musicals, though I dont like the show, some of the songs from Aida are upbeat and fun, and are at least from the same era as opposed to outdated classics. someone else's story from chess is good though not upbeat, but for future referance check it out :)... Make sure that if you choose a character song such as Adaleides Lamet or Cant Say No that it is in tune with the character your auditioning for, otherwise it may be hard for a director to see you in other parts or know if you are versitile. Classics are good to but really, its best to suit the peice to the roll your auditioning for so that the director can invision you in the desired roll, it should of coarse also fit your voice. Also, character rolls are alright as long as youve got the credentials to prove versitility. If not then stick to music of the same style genre, era and character "type". Look into once Upon a Matress maybe? dont know much about it but heard its good and a fun show.
