Rechabite details?
Fri, 19 May 2000, 03:41 pmMark Turton's new play A Strong Left Hand has been given a glowing review in today's West together with high praise for director Murray Dowsett and cast members, Leanne Page, Luke Hewitt, Monica Main, and Greg MacNeill.
Geoff Gibbs' review comments on the brevity of the season at the Rechabites Hall, but makes no mention of the season dates or booking details. Unfortunately (coincidentally?) i could find no ad with details of the production.
Does anyone know anything about the show? I checked the Blue Room's new website but there's nothing there either. I know Leanne and Luke are on the 'net, but i haven't got their email addresses.
Help!
Cheers
Grant

Grant,
There is a notice about this play in Saturday's West magazine, section 'West Coast Arts' by Robert Cook. as follows:
Quote
Those who think being born in WA is like quicksand to an arts career had better see Mark Turton's play, "A Strong Left Hand:The compelling Musical Life of Em Reilly." Directed by Murray Dowsett with music by Mark Turton, it charts the life of gifted home-grown achiever, pianist Em Reilly, who started playing at the not-so-salubrious Greenbushes pub at age 12 and ended up Musical Director of The Tivoli. Phew, big leap! Starring Leanne Page, Monica Main, Luke Hewitt and Greg McNeill, A Strong Left Hand is on at the Rechabite Hall (224 William St. Northbridge) from May 18-20 and May 23-28 at 8pm, with Saturday matinees at 2pm. Tickets cost $15 and $12. Bookings through BOCS on 9484 1133.
end quote.
