Call for Productions!
Wed, 1 Aug 2012, 05:44 pmThe City of Stirling in Western Australia is currently in the planning stages of our 2012/13 program of events for the summer season. We have a fantastic new venue developed by a school in Churchlands and we are keen to utilise this venue to present a free production to our ratepayers. The venue seats 500 people in the newly designed tiered auditorium. We are hoping to host a one off production in November for up to 1-3 nights.
We have the funds to accommodate the actor fee/s, audio and lighting, and we will manage the publicity. We do want something quirky, unique and professional. Preferably a production that suits an adult audience, but we are not opposed to a children’s production either.
If you have a production in mind, with professional actors and a professional crew that deserve to get paid for their efforts… we would love to hear from you!
Please email us no later than the 10 August 2012 with details inclusive of:
• Your Contact details
• The Name of the Production
• Genre of the production
• A short description or synopsis of the plot (detail can be added later)
And at least two of the below:
• A facebook page and/or website of your production company
• A youtube link or short video of a previous production
• Your resume

RE Support of Local gps
Tue, 7 Aug 2012, 11:52 amHello Norma,
We have worked with various local theatre groups on many occasions. We have invited the Stirling Players to be involved with various events, and the last few years we have worked with the Gilbert and Sullivan Society on some fantastic productions that were included in our Summerset Festival both this year and last year.
Every year we invite groups to submit an expression of interest for our Summerset Festival. The EOI’s for the 2013 Summerset festival are currently open to anyone interested in submitting their project in next year’s festival. Please find more information here: www.stirling.wa.gov.au/SummersetEOI If you would like to be added to this database to receive future information about this festival or our other initiatives, you are welcome to email us with your details.
We are also one of the few local governments that commit funding each year towards a Cultural Development Fund that has been developed to support local non-for-profit groups with their own cultural projects. This fund is available all year round, and any non-for-profit group is welcome to apply. Please find more information here: http://www.stirling.wa.gov.au/Resident/Recreation-and-events/Arts-and-culture/Pages/Cultural-development-fund.aspx
If you are part of the Stirling group you mention and this group is not one of the groups I have mentioned above, I encourage you to send us an email with details so we can be sure to invite your group to get involved with future opportunities. Please email culture@stirling.wa.gov.au
Thank you.
