Fri, 3 Oct 2008, 04:11 pmSalutations people.
I don't profess to have known Rob Guest as a friend, but a few years back, we spent a great day together and compared to some of the prima donnas I've had to deal with, ("Mr John (Yes, Elton) says there's a noise in the rear of the Sovereign, and he wants another one, now!" it was a bloody loan car! True story but it's in the book I’m writing!), Rob was a natural, easy-going great bloke.
Rob was also a car freak- he loved Jags over everything and I'd arranged a V12 E-TYPE Jaguar Roadster for him, as part of a promotion for Phantom of the Opera – he drove around Perth and out to Whitman Park (the motor museum). At the end of the day, I took him down to the South Perth foreshore where he went sailing.
I’m not too sure how many, if any photos I can work out how to put up here (and the scans are not good quality), however if you look closely, you might just make out he's wearing my Phantom (Ghost Who Walks) cap - it was our stupid little "blokes will be blokes" joke -one Phantom wearing the other's hat! If you can’t see them, or more to the point, I can’t work out how to post them, then if you go to my blog site, they’re on there with the same story. http://www.loconut.com.au/myplace/gregross/default.aspx
