The much-loved star of Australian seasons of Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera, Rob Guest, passed away Wednesday night.

Guest, who had been appearing as the Wizard in the Melbourne production of Wicked, was in intensive care at St Vincent's hospital after suffering a massive stroke on Tuesday night.

Woulda loved to have seen him in Wicked. I remember watching him on "talent" shows in NZ growing up as a kid. A great kiwi entertainer (yes I know he was born in Britain but he moved to NZ as a kiddy and started his performing career there) passes to the great stage in the sky.
