Stage flying
Tue, 21 Aug 2001, 10:28 amI'm currently a Theatre student at the Uni of Southern QLD, and was interested in finding out more about the craft of stage flying.
Does anyone have any ideas about what research one might undertake into the problems of flying the four characters in Peter Pan? Assuming money is no obstacle, what sort of people and/or organizations could I contact to assist in rigging a flying apparatus for this particular show??

Dear Emma
I have over 15 years experiance in flying people working in the UK and Europpe for a company called Flying by Foy probbably the worlds most experianced company in this field.
I am a newly arrived Pom in Australia & so cannot help you as far as aquiring the equipment is involved, but if you need anyone to choiriagraph the flights or assist in any of the technical requirements please give me a call on 02 987 16892 or contact me at my email address. You have a reply from Robin Good in your tray I suggest you give him a call as far as equipment is concerned. what i will suggest is you spend some time looking at harnesses as it gets very uncomftable up in the air. The UK company Flying by Foy do a very good harness but I'm not sure they hire them out by themselves as they sell the effect & not just the equipment. You can contact them at mail@flyingbyfoy.co.uk
Good luck
Bob
