Introduction to Theatre Lighting Workshop, viewing of full run through and Lighting Design workshop.
Mon, 14 May 2012, 05:02 pmThe will be an Introduction to Theatre Lighting Workshop help at the Garrick Theatre on Thursday 24 May from 7pm to 10pm. This will cover safety, the reasons for stage lighting and the resources available for community theatre stage lighting. See the list below.
Those participants that are interested can attend a full run through of the play on Saturday 26 May 2012 at 2pm to see what the existing lighting design achieves on the stage and what deficiencies there are. I cannot now make the Saturday afternoon runthrough due to familly commitments, but the sit and observe session for the 2pm runthrough is still on. There will be a briefing sheet and set plan so participants will learn how to observe lighting requirements.
The third session is a lighting design workshop to be held at the Garrick Theatre on Thursday 31 May 2012 at 7 tp 10 pm. We will discuss the lighting design requirements for Deathtrap with the Director Alice Warwick, then create a lighting plan, and associated paperwork such as a patch sheet. Then we rig, focus and plot.
Some of the lighting will be preset for continuity of the workshops, as we do not have time to start from scratch. As a guide to rigging, you should allow 30 minutes per light to rig and focus and as we will be using over 30 lights, we do not have time to do it all.
There is no charge for these workshops.
It is being held in conjunction with setting up the lighting for the next production at the Garrick Theatre, Deathtrap http://www.theatre.asn.au/production/2012/deathtrap
It will include most of the following
