Where can we buy fake money for stage ?

If there is a film scene - a briefcase with lots of notes, these notes have to bought from somewhere. No one will use a million dollars in notes. So where can we buy notes that look enough like dollars to fool and audience but not so much that the RBA arrests us for counterfeits.

If you are smart about it, you will have wads of paper with a few Prop Bank Notesn on top, and maybe on small wad with Prop Money for someone to flick through. I am doing some searching for Prop Money at the moment as I am sure you can get it somewhere in Aus, but am not having much luck just yet.

How about printing single sided notes? Looks good, but obviously not legal tender. Or shop a "Not Legal Tender" onto the notes? Make them the wrong colour? Is it illegal to copy US banknotes in Australia? Not helping much... www.meltheco.org.au

Why not just go to the bod

Why not just go to the bod that prints your Programmes, flyes or dogers. Ask him to chop up some wads of off cuts, the same size as the Pohmy quid, then dress them up with fake notes top & tail. Then knock them up, & band them to look like wads of the white bank notes.

depending on how authentic you want it to look (size & colour etc), toy shops sell play money. sometimes the notes are about the right size and colour. used to fool the kids! TT
