Are there any actual professionals here?

You do not need to do something "everyday" to keep them to a professional level but frequent effort is obvioulsy useful. You find other means or ways to use/practice your skills.

You could;

• Do Community Theatre on a regular basis.
• Could attend regular workshops/training.
• Get a paid job that requires similar scope of skill.
• Practice any chance you get, as in a private hobby.
• Read lots.
• Start your own projects.

This goes for actors, directors, techies, etc...
