Hey. I'm a fifteen-year-old mezzo but enough high notes to sing soprano Does anyone know of good songs for me to practice and train with that will improve coloratura style? I also need ones that change between registers because my head voice is so completely different to my normal voice, I need to blend them together more.

Amy, words words words from witches of eastwick is a great song for moving between registers. to develope switching between chest and head voice seemlessly, try "concone" exercises (its a method used extensively by opera aus staff to tudor singers). they are as boring as hell, but with just a few weeks training, you will be stunned by the difference. another way to work the gap between head and chest voice, is to find a song that fits comfortably within your chest voice range, and sing it at that pitch, and then everyday, take it up a semitone, once the split starts to happen, those are the keys that u need to really work on making smooth. make the song a really easy one, like mary had a lil lamb or something. i kno it sounds really stupid, but it seriously works. email me pj_pianist@hotmail.com if u want some more stuff and i will give u the number of some of the opera aus people who would be more than willing to talk to u and help out :)
