Is excited to announce auditions
for the Pulitzer Prize and Tony award winning musical
‘RENT’
Music & Lyrics by Jonathon Larson

Drag Queens * Lesbians * Drug Use* Men on Men
A story of Bohemia. The end of the Millennium.
We are seeking a talented, ensemble cast of only 15 strong Singer / Actors to fill the 8 Principals roles of Roger, Mark, Maureen, Mimi, Joanne, Benny, Collins and Angel The remaining roles MarkÂ’s Mom, RogerÂ’s Mom, Mr and Mrs Jefferson, Mr Grey, Alexi Darling, Steve, Paul, Christmas Caroler, Bag Lady, Squeegee Man, Waiter and others
will be shared by the remaining 7.
Performers of all ethnicities are strongly encouraged to audition.
‘Rent’ is a musical ‘Rock’ opera. Strong, Rock, Pop, Gospel, Soul singers wanted.
AUDITIONS
Will be held from 7pm on
Tuesday March 14th
Wednesday March 15th
Thursday March 16th
Please note all auditionees must be available for Call backs to be held between 1pm – 5pm on Sunday March 19th
Auditionees are asked to prepare two songs of their choice. It is important that performers choose material appropriate for the show.
All singers must provide sheet music for the accompanist.
No backing tracks, A Capella or Transposition will be allowed.
Rock / Pop songs are recommended. Contemporary musical theatre in similar styles is also acceptable. Please avoid singing any classical or traditional musical theatre works such as Les Miserables, Phantom of The Opera, G & S, etc. Songs should help to demonstrate your vocal range and strengths, while exhibiting your performance and storytelling ability.
All auditionees are asked to provide a head shot, this photo is non returnable.
Rehearsals commence in April at our Hawthorn venue, for a June / July season at Gasworks Arts Park in Albert Park. Rehearsal will be held on Tuesday and Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons.
