Re: Waapa graduates
It's not a nessesity to move over east after you graduate.... I know a few who have stayed in Perth/WA... admittedly most go to the east for better job prospects but it's not like you're forced to go... yes they showcase you in both Sydney and Melbourne but if you get offers for representation in Perth then why not stay?
Good luck,
Peace out!......

Re: Waapa graduates
You will know when you graduate what is best for you. If you want to stay in Perth and get offers there, so be it. If a great opportunity arises in the Eastern States its entirely up to you if you take the experience and opportunity.
I thought I would never leave Adelaide but I have just moved to Sydney to do the CODA Course at the Sing Over King. I will leave my options open when I finish.
Who knows what will happen, What will be will be.

Re: Waapa graduates
Hi Simmone,
Yes, there are many WAAPA grads in Perth. Most of those I know about moved East/OS after graduating but have now returned. Many of us have day jobs even though we are still involved in the performing arts in some way. To the best of my knowledge there are not too many grads here in Perth making a living purely through performing though. Good Luck!

Re: Waapa graduates
Its completely up to you. Doing a course at WAAPA really increases your skills and makes you a better performer, but what you choose to do with that is up to you. Yes there are more opportunities in the Eastern States, purely based on the population size. But this isn't restricted to performing. Most of my cousins have chosen to move from Adelaide to Melbourne or Sydney to follow their chosen feilds.

Re: Waapa graduates
Thanxs for your replies guys.
I hope to study the acting course next year and i would like to make a carreer here in perth. I notice that there are quite a few past graduates in shows here all the time or who put there own show on.
There are lots of musical theatre students too, like Yellow Glass (cant think of others)
Are there only 3 main agents in perth?
thanks for your thoughts guys
