I don't actually know from experience but the Queensland Conservatorium at South Bank has produced such singers as Simon Gallaher (CEO of Essgee Entertainment), Jason Barry-Smith (former Mathy Award winner) and Helen Donaldson (Marina Prior's 'Phantom' understudy and Mo Award winner). I think the idea of having a Con in most australian cities is that they're all meant to provide good music training.
If you're just starting out and looking for basic music training and a solid music degree then I don't think the conservatoriums vary that much. Generally by starting with something like a BPA or BMus you get a good grounding from which you can study and specialise post grad with something like the Sydney Con's Opera Course or at Australian Opera Studio.
