Embarassing

There are plenty of people who have graduated from waapa who do not come on here and start nonsense, just for the record. The majority of graduates would all agree this is pretty damn embarrassing. But hey, waapa started taking them younger! So write to them about it!

HOWEVER- all moaning aside- if you want entertainment try the theatre or cinemas. A chat forum isnt a place to say "dance monkey dance"- so whether they be silly performing arts school kids or not- dont tell them their responsibility is to 'present face' and 'entertain' you because thats what they study. And certainly don't assume that their nonsense on a chat forum is in anyway marring the public image of waapa students. There are enough waapa grads out there in a much grander public eye who's behaviour is very reputable.

But yeah...from this end, it's embarrassing. Just treat it like a zoo exhibit and dont feed the monkeys your peanuts...they just scream for more if you do.

Re: Embarassing

Hey LRom,

I totally agree with you. I am starting waapa this year and I am 19yo, please dont put me in the same category. I like to have fun but yeah it is embarrassing.

Some of us young kids do have the commitment and common sense but some need to grow up.

Re: Embarassing

You will have a great time there. And you'll love the friends youll make(who are probably the students that are not sprouting bullsh*t on internet chat forums!) Congrats! It's a great course, it goes super fast and u never feel far from home.

Re: now your annoying

this has already been discussed. now this is getting more annoying than the stuff your complaining about.

i am not a waapa mt and i didnt mind. it took no time to sift through, so who cares.

"And you'll love the friends youll make(who are probably the students that are not sprouting bullsh*t on internet chat forums!"
- thats silly. eg. do you think bobo talks like bobo all the time

Re: now your annoying

Well then. I certainly feel put in my place. I'll be silly now.

But just so you know...its not really over. Another major theatre site has just received alot of postings about the issue in their forums. In fact, they are calling WAAPA graduates wankers because of whats written in here.

But ANYWAY silly silly fun fun whatthefisbobo blah blah.

Re: now your annoying

Gee wiz you guys, calm down...i mean like, you know....i guess you've got a point but you know, you know, its like, not really a point, cos like you don't really know what you're talking about... you know??? and for the record, if anyone has bothered to keep one, i know thai bo so i would totally beat you....just so you know. So like, what is it that you do these days Lrom besides surfing through theatre forums in search of people to belittle? I mean, clearly you see yourself as "above" the "wankers" who write silly stuff in this forum, but let me put it to you that you smell like poo... you may be bitter and out of work, but dont expect to come here hiding behind an alias, slinging insults at people without some stiff resistance. On behalf of every cute little chicken that likes to have a bit of fun on this site I have written you a poem...

There once was a turkey called Lrom,
he gobbled and gobbled and smelt wrong,
while Farmer John was away he'd be nasty all day,
Until the fourth of July came along. Yay!

Love you guys soooooo much!

I didn't realise the Academy was accepting students QUITE so young.

Cheers,
Craig

Not bitter. Not out of work. Not hiding behind an alias. Agree with Lrom.
And for the record, IS keeping a record....just so YOU know.

Re: And now your annoying prattle continues

My mother never used baby with me, what I read is from teenage pranksters.

My perception is these guys, sally d and bobo in particular didnt get into waapa and are p#ssed off, so they are making a point that waapa students and grads are far from mature and professional.

As a professional I have seen this time and time again. I can understand how some of the unsuccessfuul candidates must feel and their retaliation is to make waapa sound like it has a bunch of idiots.

It is a real shame because waapa produces some of the best talent and has the best reputation both in Australia and overseas.

If in fact, the juveniles on this forum are part of the waapa family, we shall see how far they go.

From an 'auditioners' point of view, they would have no place in any MT family. We take great pride in finding who we feel are best suited for MT courses, in maturity, presentation and talent.

This is none of the above.

Re: And now your annoying prattle continues

Unfortunatly I know that Sally D is currently a Waapa 2nd year, so don't be blaming anyone else.

He is a great guy, and is just being silly...... People can think anything they like about "Waapa" student, the thing is we are all very different, and it pisses me off that we all get put into the same bag, ( current and grad). I accept your point that Waapa and Nida students do suffer a little tall poppy syndrome from outsiders, but in this case no.... Sally D is just being a bit of a dick. But when it comes to performing he's amazing and proffesional.

Why are people so unkind?

Thou beslubbering clapper-clawed mammet!
Walter PlingeMon, 23 Jan 2006, 10:57 am

Amazing AND professional??????

> But when it comes to performing he's amazing and proffesional.<

amazing and professional? well he certainly isn't showing it on this site, anything but! and anyone who finds out who 'he' or the others really are probably will be wary of working with them in the future - the behaviour they are displaying is completely unprofessional and IS giving WAAPA and it's students a bad name which is a shame becoz we know the majority of students arn't like that! And a bit of advice to them - a LOT of professionals come on this site as well - which could be their future employers AND a lot of ppl arn't coming to this site anymore becoz of the constant dribble!

Re: now your annoying

As much as I am loathed to post at all on this topis as I believe we have exhausted the conversation. I would like to say that in MY OPINION there have been some sensible posts about all sorts of theatrical topics on this website, by WAAPA students.

If you knew you were going to be loathed, why would you post?

As much as I am loath to say it, I loathe people who are loathed.

Re: now YOU'RE annoying

Stop it . All that very first post was saying was "this is giving waapa a bad name, but just for the record this is a small cross section of students". And I think that is a necessary thing to have said because if you look on BroadwayAustralia.com you will find that people, as recently as yesterday, have been very put off by embarrassing behaviour on here all coming from the same place.

And good on LRom for setting it straight that the majority of the students shouldn't be judged by nonsense.

And it MAY have already been discussed, but guess what- when you POST something on a forum- it gets read, for the first time, by lots of NEW people who weren't involved in the first round of conversation, so of course they will respond when they have read it! it isnt a LIVE conversation...it is something that stays and is having a constant effect. Which is precisely why everyone should watch what they say in here.

Good on you Lrom. You set it straight, and said all you needed to.

Re: Embarassing

Can you people get over yourselves! This whole conversation started three weeks ago with what was meant to be a light hearted joke.I can't believe you are all still discussing it.Yawn !!
I'm sure that even he who posted the original message is well and truly cacking him/herself about the furore he/she has created. I'm bored with it now. Can we talk about something else. Pleeease!
Walter PlingeThu, 26 Jan 2006, 08:11 am

Re: Embarassing

Um? If you read the actual argument that has been brought up you might see it's a little different. The points are

1. Other websites have started discussing the behaviour on here...which has alerted lots of people to what has been going on in here.
2. Whether or not it was talked about three weeks ago by YOU, doesn't mean somebody else isn't going to jump online and read it all for the first time TODAY. Because it is AN ONLINE FORUM AND STAYS HERE FOREVER, you twit. Which is a major part of the problem.

and

3. You just added another post and continued it on you hypocrite.

Yes, I can see what a mature person you are, sticking it to that old and craggy nineteen yr old who dared to start WAAPA a year later than you! What exactly do you feel you beat them at, I'd like to know? Being a fool?
Well I'm 20 and this will be my first yr at the academy. Well done, you beat me too! However, I'm looking forward to meeting my classmates regardless of whether they have left ridiculous posts on here or not. Hopefully no one will bring it up.
Walter PlingeThu, 26 Jan 2006, 05:36 pm

please let this be the last message on this thread!

good on you moi!

i did try out for waapa.
i didn't get in to waapa.
(just for the record)

i just hope that you all have a good year and concentrate on whats important instead of on whose more mature... lets support the talent in wa, god knows we have enough trouble doing that when we aren't fighting between ourselves...

go to waapa or don't...whatever but GO to the theatre!

ps. i'm certainly not more mature than most and quite frankly i would be offended at the notion!!!
