RENT and Phantom

I have been out of Australia recently and am not sure if either of these two subjects have been discussed.
Firstly: There is a world tour of RENT when I was in Singapore (I didn't end up seeing it there), but just wondering if anyone knows whether it is to hit Australia and if so, knows which cities.
Secondly: When I was in New York, the guy selling the programs outside of phantom told me that on Jan 9th '06 it would be the longest running musical on broadway, beating cats. So has it finally done it? Or was he slightly mistaken?

Rent isn't doing a world tour as such, it is doing an Asian tour so it won't be coming to Australia.
Phantom has beaten Cats as the longest running musical on Broadway and yes, it occured on the 9th Jan.
