Has anyone seen the musical nine? If so what is the context of the song in a very unusual way?

Have never seen the musical, has it ever been done in Perth? but know it intimately, in fact it is one of my favourite musicals...

The musical is based on Fellini's film 8 1/2
The plot centres around film director Guido Contini, and his attempts to make his new film, which is in many ways based on his own life.

The three main women in his life are his wife, his mistress, and his muse.

The song in a very unusual way is sung by his mistress, the dialogue over the top is his muse.

Think of the song as: I love you but I know i can never have you all to myself but i still love you.

I have never understood why this musical isn't done more often, I love the music, i love the story, and you would think that any musical that needs twenty odd women and only one man would be PERFECT for amateur theatre...
