Boy from Oz 2006
Mon, 17 Oct 2005, 08:04 amAccording to the New York Post (dated may 17); the Boy From Oz will open in Sydney for a 2 month season starring Hugh Jackman! It's also speculated to start Angela Toohey as Liza! If anyone has any extra information on the show, feel free to post here, and hopefully we can sort the fact from the fiction!
Both Qantas (www.showbiz.com.au) and Virgin Blue(www.bluetix.com.au) have added "The Boy From Oz" to their waitlist register for next year. You can register your interest now, and they will contact you when pre-sale tickets are released. You don't have to fly with the airlines, but you can get very good seats through them.

Hello to whom it may concern,
I am a 24yr old female living in Adelaide South Australia involved in The Performing Arts. I am a singer, dancer and have a passion for music theatre and have heard through the grapevine Boy From Oz will be travelling to Adelaide and auditioning local talent for chorus for the 2006 season.
Could you please confirm if this is true, when and where these auditions will be held and when the 2006 season will be touring to Adelaide SA
What an amzing experience and opportunity it would be to audition for this fabulous spectaculor.
Your reply is greatly appreciated

Showbiz.com.au I think is where you can prebook tickets.
I didnt hear it was coming to adelaide. Thought it was just going to Sydney. It is the US version not the previous one we had tour.
Adelaide always misses out but who knows. My friend is in Sydney and knows someone who is or has auditioned by now. Will keep you posted on any info

Do you know how to get in touch with the people who are doing auditions in Sydney to get an audition day?

auditions and cast have
auditions and cast have already been finalized or close to it i belive and the auditions were a while ago.i have a friend who is performing in the ensemble and im pretty sure the auditions were by invitation only. Also wherever the cast tours it will be the same cast (ensemble and leads) so there wont be a new cast for brissi etc because the musical only runs for a short time so there isnt much point in getting a new cast for each state. Hope this helps:)

Auditions for 'boy' supporting role
I was told that there were auditions for the supporting 'boy' role to work with Hugh Jackman during the Brisbane performance of Oz. My son is 14 today, and has studied ballet, tap, jazz and singing since the age of six. He has a natural appeal and showmanship, and would love the opportunity to audition if, in fact, this was the case.
Although only 14, he is very mature for his age and currently 5'11" His song and dance are very strong. Could you let me know if there is a chance for him to audition, or at least submit his cv?
Thanks for your time...
Narelle Pollard

I'm a vocal coach and found
I'm a vocal coach and found an ad in the local paper for auditions for this same role (for the Adelaide season) my students are off to the audition on Sunday but the ad does stipulate height and that they are looking for a boy aged 8-10. But check out the papers anyway.

It's hardly a rumour - Hugh
It's hardly a rumour - Hugh Jackman wouldn't have been talking about it coming to Perth on all major local radio stations and how tickets were going on sale if it was.

What precisely is strange about Adelaide? Hmmm? You are aware it's a "concert" version not the full stage show?

I'm going--I can't wait! Did anyone read the West Magazine on Saturday? He said when he comes to Perth he may be visiting WAAPA! I, for one, am going to make sure I'm at uni everyday that week! I'll just lurk around, pretend I'm studying (not a hard job!) and hope I catch a glance! Stupid, fangirl crap I know but I am a red-blooded female!
