Disney Auditions
Sat, 3 Sept 2005, 10:24 pmHas everyone seen the notice in the papers for auditions for Tokyo and Hong Kong Disney?? Yay!
I was just hoping that anyone who has done these auditions before could give us a bit of a rundown of the "Disney Audition Process" and maybe a few tips...?

Re: Disney Auditions
a girl i know auditioned for it once, and she said that there's a panel of about 14 or 15 people all along the walla just starring at you. but just remember that the time u have to audition is YOUR time.....so make the most of it and keep this little saying in your head......"fear is temporary, regret is forever."
Good Luck.

Re: Disney Auditions
I noticed they are not auditioning for singers in Perth.. is this right?
Simon do you know which audition your friend went for? I was thinking of trying for the disney look-a-likes but I'm not sure what that will involve...

Re: Disney Auditions
Yep, but I forgot where. Just google " disney tokyo auditions". That should sort ya out. Also keep an eye on the entertainment pages in Saturdays paper - near the movie screening times. Apparently they advertise a few times a year.
By the way... I'm still waiting for some useful tips... what level do you have to be for the dancing? Should you try to appear like the character you are auditioning for, or let them see your potential? Please only give tips if you've been to a Disney audition - I don't need to know how to audition for my local theatre...! :)

Re: Disney Auditions
Hi there,
I have many friends who have worked for disney.
Each country, show or venue looks for different things.
one thing I know is tatoos, pearcings or the like are a big no no, unless they can be removed or are not seen through the costume.
because they do not tell you what character you are auditioning for there is no point trying to characterise any of them.
they will generally look at your features and if successful give you an idea on what character they may want you for.
the best advise is to go and give it a try, not all dancers are cast as dancers, not all singers are cast as singers etc, you may fit a different character they are looking for.
so just go and show them what you can do
You will find if you are possibly what they are looking for you may get a call back, but you will also find like most auditions there will be allot of people going for an audition, so dont let that put you off.
good luck
p.s. universal studios are also looking for people too, if this is not successful for you

Re: Disney Auditions
Hey I did the Disney auditions in the Uk and basically they wanted to hear 16 bars of a disney or pop song and then they showed quite a simple routine and then they eliminated from then on. It was great fun although I couldn't do that job cause I'm already doing a musical but if you got it it would be a great job good luck with it. x

Re: Disney Auditions
Dysney´s auditions are not very complicated they are looking for specific characters, so if you look like tarzan, you´re in if you look like pocahontas you´re in. They don´t really seeking for talented people but also for right cast.

Disney
I auditioned in California a few years back and the level of dancing was very high. It was choreographed. They had auditions for Character/Dancers and Singers.. the level was quite high.

Hey Peta-Maree,
Hey Peta-Maree,
Just wondering how you go about auditioning for Disneyland California, is it the same process as it is for the others?
Cheers
