Hi,

As I've been looking through the forums during the past few days I've come across a number of people who have suggested ringing up WAAPA for a singing teacher. I rang them up today and the lady at the other end said it was University policy not to give out that type of information. I was wondering if there was anyone in particular I should ask to speak to if I were to call again.

Thanks for any possible help.

Pete.

Re: WAAPA Singing Teachers

True, it is Uni policy not to give out numbers. Besides, most of the WAAPA teachers are flat out with their own students and plenty of Aussie Idol hopefuls. Anyone a little more serious can try me or perhaps someone I know. Luke 0414 777 027.

Enjoy!!

Re: WAAPA Singing Teachers

If you're after singing teachers there though, the two ladies that do the classical kids are Megan Sutton and Janice Taylor-Warne.

Re: WAAPA Singing Teachers

I have learnt with both Janice and Megan at The Con. Both are great - and very busy! When I was there, their studios were pretty much tied up with the Con students, and I don't know whether they would be able to take on many private students. Don't know if they still run them, but WAAPA Music Dept used to have "Single Study" courses, where you would be entitled to weekly lessons, as well as being able to participate in Vocal Workshops, Concert Prac, and productions (the opera, and opera scenes evenings). So basically, the music performance course minus all the non-practical stuff. Might be worth looking into :)

Thanks for the help guys. Will look into it. Also, Veronica, having studied at The Con, do you, or any of your friends who graduated with you, teach?

Re: WAAPA Singing Teachers

My friend is doing MT at WAAPA and from the list of singing teachers she got she rang all of them and only 1 teacher had one space left. They booked out so quick. My gosh how popular
