Follow The Light - Auditions!
Wed, 24 Aug 2005, 01:12 amHi everyone! I'd like to invite performers who can sing, dance and act to be part of the cast of a new musical that will be staged in late November. It's a Murdoch University Production entitled FOLLOW THE LIGHT - a "non-religious version of the Christmas story" (the biggest oxymoron I've ever had to work with!!) - and I'm looking for singer-actors and musos to be part of the show!
FTL is a modern revision of the classic tale involving shepherds, sheep, stars and the whole shebang -- told in a highly contemporary way, with songs ranging from pop to rock to punk -- and it's a fun, tongue-in-cheek interpretation of the festive story, aimed primarily at late teens, young adults and the young-at-heart. While it's meant to be contemporary and humourous, it's not meant to be taking the mickey -- thereby being enjoyable by both believers and non-.
Auditions are open to singer-actors between 18 and 35 (although if you're outside of this age group, it doesn't really matter!) with strong contemporary/pop/rock voices (think the ever-popular Rent), and will be held on the first weekend of September.
