Musical theatre in Darwin?

Help! I am looking at moving to Darwin in a year and a half. Call me over-organsied, but I thought I'd do a google search (or 5) to see if I could find what amateur musical theatre groups are up in the Top End. My search came up with zilch! I realise that not all theatre groups have homepages so I haven't given up hope yet, but I'm putting the question out there: Do you know of *any* musical theatre groups based in Darwin??
It could be the difference between me moving there or having to ditch my plans and head somewhere else entirely...

Thanks!

I would have to disagree that Darwin is a cultural toilet, given the size of Darwin, the remoteness and the transient population. I have just recently been to the Darwin Festival and they had a wonderful arts program.

Overall for it's size and remoteness and 'mango madness', Darwin does quite well. But the thing about these remoter places is: If you want something to happen you can't rely on other people to do it for you! You have to create the opportunities yourself and this is in part due to population size and performing arts skill base.

Musical Theatre may not be of mass interest overall in Darwin, but old faves 'never' die. There are probably people around doing things, but they may not be as organised or advertised as they are in larger cities. You really have to network and get out there!!
