Despite being a recording success attempts at creating a stage version of a concept album proved very difficult. Every now and then someone would try a new version - with new book, change songs around, etc. Despite at least 4 attempts at rewriting this problem show none of the efforts was successful on Brodway, in London, in stock, in fact, anywhere!
It just proves that a couple of hit songs don't sustain a full scale musical if the book isn't up to it.
