This price is way too much for this type of show.

I agree. There is a number of companies that now feel they can charge large prices for what are still only amateur performances. "In concert" implies that little has been spent on the usual expensive items for a musical.
Many companies seem to charge similar prices regardless of the size of cast, costume requirements, orchestra, etc. $35 for a big musical, then $28 for a tiny 2 person play with little settings! A bit hard to justify.
